President and owner Betsy McGreer has always been part of the forest products industry. Graduating with a B.S. in Forest Resources from the University of Washington, she worked as a land use forester for Weyerhaeuser, owned and operated a helicopter logging company in Forks, and spent five years as the Timber Underwriting Manager for a major bonding company.  Recognizing a need for an advocate for the timber industry, she started her agency in 1988.

Bird hunting, fishing, and spending time up river at their log cabin on the Snake River with her husband, Dale, and their two dogs occupies her spare time. She is an avid writer and photographer and has published three books:

· Up River, Reflections of Hells Canyon

· Up River Again, Postcards from the Canyon

· Fire! Up River The Chimney Creek Complex Fire

Mark Richardson grew up in Bremerton, Washington, attended Vanderbilt University, served in the Army in Viet Nam, and then graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Business.

His career in the bond business began in 1972. He has experience from all sides of the surety equation: as a branch and a Home Office underwriter; as a risk manager and consultant in claims handling; in administration and in marketing; and as an agent specializing in contract, commercial, and timber underwriting.

Mark joined McGreer and Company in 1996, moving from Seattle to Clarkston with his wife Jayne and son Sam. This forgotten corner of Washington is conducive to his lifelong interest in water fowling, fishing, and boating
